Support is what we do!

Street Support is an established provider of accommodation and services that help young people to achieve the confidence and life skills to go out into the world independently and be productive and positive members of society.

What we Specialise in:

#1

Challenging Behaviours

Street Support has a wealth of know-how in supporting young people who have been engaging in criminal activity. Our goal is to step in early, particularly with those that have minor offences to hopefully curtail such behaviour before it intensifies.

We offer an assistive-based alternative to confined care so that the young people’s needs can be handled in the community. We have a firm belief that all young people have the capacity to make affirming changes in their lives and that with the right support and guidance there is a better chance of successful progress, than without it.

#2

Unaccompanied Asylum Seeker Minors (UASC)

Street Support has comprehensive experience working with unaccompanied minors and understands the importance of being culturally respectful whilst helping the young people feel safe in their new surroundings.

Our team includes members who are fluent in many languages common amongst countries that have a significant number of minors seeking asylum and also the capacity to often provide interpreters if required.

#3

Mental Health Support

Recent studies show an increase in the number of young people being affected by mental health issues such as self-harm, depression and anxiety.

The team at Street Support are experienced working with affected young people. Using an empathetic approach to build trust and working closely with mental health specialists, we  endeavour to ensure that full support is available for the young people we assist.

#4

Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) / Trafficking

Many young people are at risk of being groomed and/or trafficked – with as much as a third of victims being young people that are Looked After.

Our staff are trained to identify signs of CSE  and work side by side with other agencies that are best placed to help affected young people access services that can help them.

#5

Drug and Alcohol Misuse

Our Team is experienced in offering support to the young people we look after who are at risk of misusing drugs or consuming excessive alcohol. We recognise that this can lead to other potentially risky behaviour such as criminal activity.

Street Support  has a no drugs or alcohol policy in our accommodations but offer advice and support to any young people that may be struggling with these issues.
